Looks like you had a great time in Napa, Carolyn!

I went to Meadowood several years ago. I will have to try it again now that Christopher Kostow is there. The Toro does sound delicious.

And a crispy suckling pig confit to rival the crispy skin roast sucklings you find in the Chinese restaurants! Sounds too tempting!

Thanks for the great review!

Unlike the French Laundry, where you have to reserve two months ahead of time to the exact date, the Restaurant at Meadowood is a bit easier to get into. Although as word spreads about how good it is, I'm sure it'll become harder to snag a table.

The Restaurant at Meadowood also does less damage to your wallet. The seven-course chef's tasting menu is $130, with another $95 for wine pairings. Three courses are $70, with another $45 for wine pairings. Four courses are $85, with $60 more for wine pairings. And five courses are $95 with an additional $75 for wine pairings.

Excellent review and interview. Question. What's dinner cost? Is it as hard to get a reservation there as it is at the French Laundry?
