Pinkberry Fro-Yo Coming to Santana Row

Pinkberry, the Los Angeles-based chain that started the whole tart fro-yo craze, will open its first Northern California outpost in December in Santana Row in San Jose.

It will be located in a pavilion in Santana Row Park that now houses the concierge center that will relocate to the security center.

Pinkberry serves three flavors (original, green tea, and coffee) that can be enjoyed with 20 different toppings (from fresh fruit to Fruity Pebbles). The Los Angeles Times humorously calls Pinkberry “the yogurt that launched 1,000 parking tickets.” Its original West Hollywood store was inundated with yogurt fanatics who risked double-parking to stand in line for a cup of the creamy, thick yogurt.

With this year’s opening on the Peninsula of two other Los Angeles cult foodie favorites, Red Mango fro-yo in Palo Alto and Sprinkles Cupcakes in Palo Alto, are we starting to resemble Tinsel Town? Or maybe just eat like the stars do?

  • We were actually at Santana Row this past weekend (Ben & Jerrys) and it was mentioned that Pinkberry was coming in three months. For those of us that rarely get to the Palo Alto area, having something new in Santana Row will be fun!

  • There’s a Red Mango that opened up in Cupertino recently. It’s near the library & civic center. You can see the sign from DeAnza Blvd.

  • Ooooh, another Red Mango in the South Bay/Peninsula area! Thanks for the update, Sun. I’ll have to go get my fix there.
