Last year’s Passover celebration at Perbacco Ristorante proved so popular, the San Francisco restaurant is doing it again this year on April 10.

Chef and cookbook author Joyce Goldstein will join Perbacco Executive Chef Staffan Terje to create an Italian Jewish Passover dinner that includes antipasti, desserts, and side dishes served family-style, along with your choice of primi and secondi. Entree choices include seabass with a sauce of artichokes, and lamb shoulder braised with olives.

The four-course dinner is $49 per person. For reservations, call (415) 955-0663.

Tonight, from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m., enjoy a free wine-tasting lesson at Bistro Luneta in San Mateo that will be taught by Master Sommelier Reggie Narito, one of only three Filipino-Americans to hold that prestigious title.

This will be the first in a series of wine tasting sessions this year at the modern-Filipino restaurant. To reserve a spot, call (650) 344-0041.

If Pinot is your thing, head to the fifth annual Pinot Paradise on March 28-29 to discover the flavors and terroirs of six recently defined sub-regions in the Santa Cruz Mountains.

Enjoy a self-guided Pinot Pathways tour on March 28, where you’ll be able to taste barrel samples, library wines, and select varietals at a bevy of area wineries. Tickets are $25, and a map can be found at scmwa.com.

Then on March 29, get ready for an all-day Pinot immersion at Villa Ragusa in Campbell. You’ll learn about the climate and geography of these sub-regions, and get a better understanding of the differences and similarities between Burgandy and the Santa Cruz Mountain Appellation. A Grand Cruz Tasting will present Pinot Noirs from 35 wineries, along with tastes of gourmet food from local restaurants.

Technical session tickets are $55. The Grand Cruz Tasting is $55. A ticket for the entire run of Sunday events is $125. And all-inclusive tickets to attend all weekend events are $140. For more information, call (831) 685-8463.

  • I love the idea of the Italian Jewish Passover dinner. I should totally do something like that !

  • I was planning on attending on Sunday until I realized I would be out of town. If you go, I look forward to hearing about how amazing it was!

  • I’ve been a fan of Santa Cruz Mountain Pinot Noir ever since we discovered Woodside Vineyards. I’d love to go on that Pinot Pathways tour but I got something else going on that day.

  • Me thinks Nate will be busy cooking slab upon slab of ribs. It’ll be a regular Bedrock at his house that day. (wink, wink)

CG: I won’t be going to the Jewish Passover dinner. But I do so love Perbacco. Great food! And Joyce always comes up with outstanding dishes.

  • Pinot is totally my thing… So tempting to get on a plane and fly out there for a few days…

  • I really enjoy Joyce Goldstein – I have a few of her cookbooks and have taken a couple of classes with her. Her recipes are wonderful and keepers, my husband gets cravings for some of them and I can always break them out to impress guests.
