Super Sweet Shots

They look an awfully lot like Italian ices or sorbets, don’t they?
Guess again.
They’re shots of frosting — that have been frozen.
Leave it to Sprinkles Cupcakes Founder Candace Nelson to come up with these sugar bombs. She swears they taste just like ice cream, too.
They’re 75 cents for each 1.5-ounce container. Choose from five flavors: strawberry, vanilla, cream cheese, dark chocolate, and milk chocolate.
They’re available at all Sprinkles locations — if you dare.

Frozen frosting?!!! If I hurry I can make those and get them frozen in time for my daughter’s playdate this afternoon. How neat!

Carolyn,
Have you tried them? Does not sound too appealing to me. Too much sugar???

Hum…what an interesting idea! Sounds VERY sugary but might taste ok. They’re really cute though!

I love getting these when I want the frosting on the cupcake but not the whole cupcake. Or when I have a sugar craving but I am buying a box of cupcakes to take somewhere.
You have to like Sprinkles frosting … which I do

I would so love one of those right now…

Sally: I have not tried these yet. I find the regular Sprinkles frosting on top of the cupcakes to be mighty sweet. But one thing about freezing is that it mutes the sweetness. So the frozen frosting shots might actually taste LESS sweet than the non-frozen frosting on top of the cupcakes.

Those look like fun! I visited a Sprinkles in Scottsdale last summer, but I wish we had one here.

oh my – they sound very sweet.

Sprinkles! That name haunts me – I keep hearing about it from all corners but have never been. Now, you taunt me with icing shots, the best part of any cake! Someday . . .

Wow frozen frosting? If they’re sweets so they’re for me!
Please a dark chocolate sugar bomb
Cheers!

Frosting shots seem to be the new in thing! I love frosting, but I love it with cake. I don’t know if I’d want to eat all that frosting by itself!

this is a hysterical (and decadent) idea

I’m sure the kids just love these. Have you tried the frosting shots at Icing on the Cake in Los Gatos? They aren’t frozen though. (Haven’t tried them though.)

I like the idea of frozen frosting shots. I occasionally make so many cupcakes I have to freeze them, and the cake thaws faster than the frosting. I know how tasty the solid layer of sugary buttery goodness can be. Of course, it also depends on what kind of frosting it is.
