Dianna: I did not soak my Maple Flavor Bites before incorporating them into the dough. After baking, they're not super hard.
I recently bought the Cinnamon Flavor Bites from King Arthur but haven't used them yet. Do you soak your Flavor Bites in the maple syrup or other liquid before using? I read that it would make them softer in the final product. In this recipe, What is the texture of the Flavor Bites once the cookies are cooked? This recipe sounds delicious and I can't wait to try it.
