SusieCakes Ushers in A Sweet New Year
SusieCakes bakery has all you need to welcome 2011 with a sweet flourish.
Through Dec. 31, the bakery (with locations in San Francisco and Greenbrae in Marin County) is baking up sugar cookies shaped like champagne flutes and sparkling wine bottles, as well as two special varieties of cupcakes.
First, “Champagne” ones, which are vanilla cakes with sparkling rosé champagne baked into the batter, then frosted with champagne buttercream. Second, “Morning After Mimosas,” similar cupcakes but frosted with orange buttercream instead.
Cupcakes are $3 each. The flute-shaped cookies are $3 a piece and the champagne bottle cookies are $4 each.
SusieCakes is open till 5 p.m. on New Year’s Eve. All locales will be offering party favors, too, in case you need anything more to get into the spirit.

I’m surely too far from any Susiecakes Bakery, but those are good ideas! Thanks for sharing – I’ll try to bake my own Champagne cupcakes soon
