Get Your Mojo On In A Delicious Way & A Food Gal Giveaway

Sweet, salty, crunchy and chewy — all in one bite.
Is it any wonder that Clif Mojo bars are among my favorite energy snacks?
OK, with chocolate chips in some of them and as much as 30 percent saturated fat, they might not be the epitome of health food. But at about 200 calories per bar (varies depending upon the variety), you could do a lot worse, especially when the ingredients in these bars are 70 percent organic.
They come in a variety of flavors, including: Chocolate Almond Coconut, Dipped Chocolate Peanut, Peanut Butter Pretzel, Mountain Mix and White Chocolate Macadamia.
I like the profusion of rice crisps and nuts in them because they make for a satisfying texture.
Stash one in your desk drawer, purse or carry-on luggage, and you’re good to go.
Contest: Five lucky Food Gal readers will win a sampler pack of Clif Mojo bars (one of each variety named above). Entries, limited to those in the continental United States, will be accepted through midnight PST Oct. 6. Winners will be announced Oct. 8.
How to win?
Just tell me how you get your mojo on (your confidence, your energy, your self-esteem, your special spark)?
Here’s my own answer:
“The older I get, the more I value a great night’s sleep, one where no alarm wakes me up, just the morning light coming through the bedroom drapes. A perfect night’s sleep — deep, restful and unencumbered by any thoughts or worries whatsoever — just makes my complexion glow. It invigorates me even more than the best workout can. And it kick-starts my confidence, no matter what the day may bring.”
Winner of Last Week’s Contest: In the previous Food Gal contest, I asked you to tell me what images you would put on your own customized business cards or greeting cards. One grand prize winner will receive 50 Moo.com business cards plus 25 Moo.com holiday cards. Two runners-up will each win 50 Moo.com business cards.
Congrats to the grand-prize winner:
Sal, who wrote, “I’m torn between two sets of photos I could use. We travel a lot and I have thousands of photographs from everywhere from the US to Xinjiang Province (China) to Thailand to Madagascar to the Hunza Valley in Pakistan and more. I’d love to choose six or eight of my favorite photos for cards, which would encourage me to =write= to people more often than I do. The other alternative would be photos I take of our view, looking east toward TI, Yerba Buena, the Bay Bridge and the East Bay. I have thousands (literally) of photos looking east in the fog, in the sunshine, when the sailboats are out dancing in the weekend sun, sunrise, even sunset, which we can’t see, obvi, but which decks the clouds over Berkeley in pinks and purples. I’d love to have a collection of cards with a variety of views. Again, to encourage snail mail correspondence with friends. Some like these, maybe. Congrats to these two runners-up:
1) Krystal, who wrote: “These are right up my alley as I have my own little start up as well (a bakery!). I sell my baked goods on an online etsy store front at etsy.com/shop/buttercupbaking and also on a new local sf bay area site called Zaarly at zaarly.com/buttercupbaking. I would use images of all my own personal handmade desserts to really show diversity and to make my clients mouth water the second they look at the card. I truly think that it could significantly increase business as I would much rather buy a delicious cake from a business card like yours above, rather than mine now. which have a clip art – ish looking cupcake and my info :-/. (And I thought they were really cute before I saw these!!!) I would also use some holiday themed dessert pictures for the greeting cards to send with any holiday orders! So many great ways to get creative! They would be a big hit… these are awesome!”
2) Marcella, who wrote, “Well, first I’d need to learn to take a decent picture. OK, maybe I’d get someone who can do that well to do that part for me. Mine would have a favorite quilt and something I’d cooked. Perhaps I’d use the quilt as a tablecloth or backdrop to highlight the tomato jam I made this week.”
