Three Big Names Star At Cookbook-Signing Events

Join famed Chef Thomas Keller at Sur La Table, where he’ll be signing copies of his fifth cookbook, Bouchon Bakery (Artisan).

Nov. 15 at 6 p.m., Keller, proprietor of the French Laundry, Ad Hoc, Bouchon Bistro and Bouchon Bakery, will be on hand at the Palo Alto Sur La Table.

The next day, Nov. 16 at noon, he’ll be at the branch at San Jose’s Santana Row.

Tickets are required for both events. To obtain a ticket, just purchase a copy of “Bouchon Bakery” at either of those two Sur La Table locations.

Dec. 8 at 7 p.m., Keller will appear in conversation with San Francisco Chronicle restaurant critic Michael Bauer at the Jewish Community Center in San Francisco. Tickets are $25 to $40.

Everyone’s favorite “Barefoot Contessa” will be coming to town on Nov. 14 to tout her newest cookbook, “”Barefoot Contessa Foolproof (Clarkson Potter).

Ina Garten, a fixture on the Food Network, will be at Williams-Sonoma in the Stanford Shopping Center in Palo Alto at noon. Books to be signed must be purchased at Williams-Sonoma.

Top Chef Masters” judge and Saveur editor-in-chief, James Oseland, will visit the Bay Area on Nov. 9 to talk about his new cookbook, The Way We Cook: Portraits From Around the World (Weldon Owen).

Oseland will appear in conversation with local food writer Torie Ritchie at 7 p.m. at the San Francisco Cooking School.

Tickets are $15 for the event or $40 for admission to the event plus a copy of the cookbook.

Additionally, Oseland will be the guest at Camino restaurant in Oakland at a luncheon, 11:30 a.m. Nov. 10.

Enjoy wine, plus snacks, as well as a three-course lunch inspired by the book that includes grilled lamb kebabs with red lentils and chapati.

Price is $50 per person.
