Join me, 6 p.m. June 25 at Macy’s Valley Fair in Santa Clara, when I’ll be hosting a cooking demo with Chef Robert Sapirman of Citrus restaurant.

Sapirman, head chef of the restaurant at the Hotel Valencia in San Jose’s Santana Row across the street, will be dropping by to cook up a storm with local, sustainable ingredients. You may remember the long-time South Bay chef from his years at Parcel 104 in Santa Clara, too.

If you haven’t visited Citrus yet, you’re missing out. Sapirman’s cooking is influenced by Asia and Spain. In fact, he’ll be hosting a special paella night in the restaurant’s courtyard on June 28. Live music will play, and an assortment of tapas also will be included with the dinner. Price is $75 per person. For reservations, call (408) 423-5405.

To get a taste of his cooking style, come to the Macy’s demo, which will take place in the demonstration kitchen on the first floor of the Men’s/Home store.

It may be a “school night.” But it’ll be so worth it.
