Dip Into Yogurt Dips and A Food Gal Giveaway

I have a love-hate relationship with dip.

I love the stuff.

But not what it does to my hips, if you know what I mean.

So, when I had a chance to try La Terra Fina dips lately, I was intrigued. Rather than sour cream, they’re made with Greek yogurt.

That means, a serving of two tablespoons weighs in at a respectable 30 to 70 calories, depending upon the variety.

The eight dips are all gluten-free, too.

The Balsamic Beet & White Bean Dip is fuchsia colored with chunks of red beets in it. It’s slightly sweet, but also tangy from balsamic vinegar.

The Caramelized Onion Dip had a sweet onion-y taste, though I think it needed a little more salt or tang to really make its flavors pop.

The Red Lentil Curry Dip, my favorite of the bunch, reminded me of curried deviled eggs. With its earthy, yet mild curry flavor, it would be fantastic as a sandwich spread, too.

The dips are available at Whole Foods and Smart & Final for $4.99 per 10-ounce tub.

  • I have a love/hate relationship with food! Yup! Food! Our family, much like everybody else’s, finds every excuse to celebrate and of course, eat! If you want to lose/maintain weight, it’s a constant struggle. Braised pork belly, I love you, buy seriously, why do you have to taste soooo good! I hate you! Peking duck, so crispy, so tasty, soooo gonna clog up my arteries! Which leads me to my runner-up love/hate relationship, exercise, which by the way JUST BARELY edged out the weight scale! 🙂

  • I have a love/hate relationship with alcohol. I love my cocktails but hate it when I drink too much!

I have a love/hate relationship with chocolate. I love the creamy sweetness of chocolate but I hate that sometrimes I feel like I NEED to have it or I can’t think of anything else.

  • Hi Carolyn! I have a love hate relationship with garlic! It’s in all the foods I love and just the smell gets me to salivating. It also can, how can I say, give you some breath that is mild offensive at best. And after mincing a few cloves, it’s just a little hard to get that sweet, pungent aroma off your hands. Thanks! Billy

  • i have a love hate thing going on with sun chips right now, i can eat a whole bag in one sitting, they’re so amazing, but then i hate them for being so amazing and then I’m full and dont eat a healthy dinner. argh!

  • I have a love hate relationship with gluten. I LOVE baked goods made with flour, but I hate how it makes me feel so so crummy for days afterward – debilitating headaches:(

  • I use a fitness app called GymPact, where I enter in my credit card and how many times I want to go to the gym every week, say 4. Every week I’m successful I get a few dollars, but if I miss even one workout it takes away $5! Ahhh, can you say love/hate!! It works beautifully in keeping me motivated to get myself to the gym but those Sunday evenings when I realize I still need to get one last workout in…whew!

  • The Supertaster liked these as well! Now that they have the Food Gal seal of approval I must try!

  • I have a love/hate relationship with bread. I love bread and would love to eat it with every meal, but it’s not good for my waistline, thighs, and butt.

  • Nice & tasty looking dips! 🙂
