If you love fresh oysters, you won’t want to miss the 1 p.m. Sept. 23 cooking demo at Macy’s Valley Fair in Santa Clara with yours truly and Chef David Baron of Salt Wood Kitchen & Oysterette.

Baron will demonstrate how to jazz up oysters with toppings of kimchi butter; “Bloody Mary” and green apple; and finger lime-tarragon.

He is the chef of the just-opened Salt Wood Kitchen & Oysterette in the Sanctuary Beach Resort nestled within 19 acres of the Monterey Bay shoreline.

Naturally, the restaurant focuses on seafood on all manner of dishes, from raw to cured to wood-fired.

Baron has cooked at such illustrious San Francisco establishments as Aqua, Incanto, Coi, and Atelier Crenn.

The free demo will take place in the culinary kitchen on the main floor of the Men’s & Home store.
