Cape Cod Potato Chips Make Waves

Cape Cod Potato Chips, which indeed originated in Cape Cod, has come out with thick-sliced, wavy-cut chips just made for dipping.

Recently, I had a chance to try samples of the new product, Cape Cod Waves, which come in three flavors: White Cheddar & Sour Cream, Sea Salt, and Reduced Fat Sea Salt.

The chips are kettle-cooked in small batches. I love how substantial they are, with a nice thickness for emphasized crunch. The ridges definitely help you pick up a lot of dip, if you like, too.

The White Cheddar & Sour Cream is the saltiest of the three, owing to the combination of sea salt and cheddar cheese. The Sea Salt is simple and habit-forming.

These are so crunchy and dip-able.

My favorite was the Reduced Fat Sea Salt. With 40 percent less fat, these chips allow for a more intense potato flavor. Yes, more flavor, and less fat. How’s that for a win-win? A 1-ounce serving of these (about 9 chips) has 130 calories and no saturated fat, 10 fewer calories than the regular Sea Salt chips, which also has 0.5 grams saturated fat.

Since you know you can’t stop at one mere chip, the Reduced Fat Sea Salt definitely helps lessen the guilty conscience if you end up inhaling a handful.
