Haagen-Dazs’ Tempting New Flavors
If it’s summer, it must be time for new Haagen-Dazs flavors.
And that’s a very good time, indeed.
That’s eight new flavors, four of which are limited edition ones available only through December, such as “Dark Chocolate Mint” and “Bananas Foster.”
If you’re watching your calories, you’ll be glad to know that three of the new flavors are low-fat frozen yogurts, such as “Peach” and “Raspberry.”
Recently, I had a chance to try samples of four of the newbies:
“Bananas Foster” tastes like banana bread in ice cream form with a whole lot of cinnamon and nutmeg going on. There are no chunks of bananas in it, just smooth ice cream with a swirl of rum-brown sugar caramel.
“Midnight Cookies & Cream” makes you think of a chocolate milkshake, but with soft chocolate cookie bits and fudge sauce stirred into it.
“Amaretto Almond Crunch” is full of crunchy, sticky bits of almond brittle. The Amaretto adds a wonderful headiness.
The real star for me, though, was the “Haagen-Dazs Five Lemon.” If you’re familiar with the “Five” line, you know they each contain only five ingredients, letting the purity of the flavors really shine through.
This tastes like heavenly lemon chiffon custard. There’s so much lemon zest packed into it, too. Good thing this one will be around longer than the end of the year.

yum! I love the five line and am a huge fan of all things lemon, so that’s really exciting. The bananas foster sounds pretty amazing too.

i love the texture of haagen daz but gave up on them because they never put enough junk in their ice cream. i love to have lots of stuff/textures in my ice cream. looks like the midnight one has a good amount of cookies in it.

I’m an ice cream freak, and Hagen Dazs is my favorite. Could eat a whole pint in one sitting! But, that’s another story. Always glad that they broaden their selection. Thanks FG!

Must say the bananas foster one sounds like an absolute winner! Just wish Haagen Dazs wasn’t so prohibitively expensive where I live. :-/

Tasting ice cream what a great job. I try to stay away from Haagen-Dazs as it’s so rich. The Lemon and the Chocolate Mint sound heavenly. I love both lemon and chocolate. Hopefully I can find them here before December.

They used to make midnight cookies and cream when I was a kid. It was my FAVORITE ice cream and I never forgot about it. I am so excited I will get to have it again (at least for awhile).

The lemon ‘Five’ by Haagen Daz is FAB!! It’s so good that I had to find a site I could post and sing its praises. Baby, its SO good. Lemony and creamy w/ bits of lemon zest, not too sweet and gloriously just tart enough…FAB! If you really truly love lemon, do yourself a favor and try this product. YUMMO!!!!

Haagen-Daz knocked it out of the park with lemon Five ice cream. Only problem seems to be keeping it on the shelves. My family has searched for it all over Texas, and are wondering if this flavor is on vacation……or was discontinued.
Please, please, please bring it back!!! We love it!!!
