Grgich Hills Winery Wants to Get You Stomping

If you’re old enough to remember the iconic grape-stomping scene in the old TV comedy, “I Love Lucy,” Grgich Hills Estate in Rutherford is offering you the opportunity to re-live that moment.

Through Halloween, the winery invites you to kick off your shoes to get down and dirty stomping grapes. You’ll get a chance to create your own keepsake by imprinting your grape-stained feet on a white “I stomped at Grgich Hills” T-shirt when you step out of the barrel, too. No doubt, since you’ll be parched from all that aerobic activity, you’ll also get to enjoy a tasting of three wines.

You’ll be following in the footsteps of Owner Mike Grgich, who turned 90 this year and stomped his first grapes when he was 3 years old in Croatia.

The stomping opportunity is offered daily, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Cost is $30 per person.
