Food Gal’s First Video: My Debut Cooking Demo at Macy’s Union Square
For those who missed my debut cooking demo in person on June 11, 2011 at Macy’s Union Square San Francisco, please enjoy this abbreviated video of it.
My thanks to my husband, aka Meat Boy, who filmed this; and to Brett Yasukawa, a most talented Bay Area chef who also has mad skills as an editor, who helped put this video together.
Find the complete recipe for my late-Mom’s one and only tomato beef chow mein here.
See still photos from the demo, courtesy of Barry and Eva Jan, here.
And for those still hungry for more, here’s Part II, a fun little video of extras from the cooking demo.
Congratulations! That video is great. You look so comfortable cooking in front of those people and the camera.
Congrats! You did a great job!
Ok, Steven Speilberg must have helped MeatBoy. That is amazing video editing. I love it!! I am going to make this dish all over again.
Carolyn! How fantastic. You look great and the dish is definitely going into the rotation. Wonderful.
Superb editing! So glad you got this up and running. Whoo hoo! 🙂
You go, Food Gal! I can’t wait to try the dish. What a beautiful tribute to your Mom. And so appreciate you’d share this happy food memory with us!
YES! I’ve been waiting for you to make a video 🙂 Keep them coming, please! You’re a natural.
VeggieGirl: You are too kind! But I dunno — I don’t think my little cooking video can compare to your dazzling ballroom dance ones. 😉
YAY go Carolyn! You look great! 😀 And I can’t wait to see Part 2 😀
Aww how fun! It’s great seeing you live!
Great video! Definitely looking forward to more!!! 🙂

That was a super video, Carolyn! Kudos to you!
Great video Carolyn! Wow, congratulations!!!
Great demo! I was getting hungry this morning as you crisped the noodles. And, such great advice to cook with family and get those favorite recipes.
Another great demo! I always enjoy watching your demos as much as I enjoy your daily postings on this site. Keep up the great work! I don’t suppose you will be coming out to Union Square in NYC by any chance or Macy’s in midtown Manhattan one day?
